St. Patrick’s SNS in Blanchardstown – Food Rescue Event

St. Patrick’s Senior National School in Corduff held an excellent Food Rescue event. Four classes took part over a two-week period in food waste prevention activities. By examining their own food habits and identifying some waste reduction measures, they managed to decrease their food waste by 40% and their composting and recycling doubled in two weeks! They were supported by Voiceireland.org.

The children were very excited to present their findings to a packed room of their peers, teachers, parents and community guests, including local Councillors. We were all then treated to a delicious lunch made from ‘rescued’ food from local supermarkets.
