Growing Community Roots, Tallaght

St Aidan’s SNS in Brookfield, Tallaght ran a ‘Come Dine With Me’ event in which the students cooked for themselves and their parents. There was such excitement as they took turns to serve the food they made and dine with family members. The menu consisted of vegetable soup, chicken & chorizo pasta and apple crumble – every bit homemade and soooo tasty!

The school also has close links with with the Brookfield Community Garden. The students have amazing enthusiasm for the horticulture and healthy eating lessons. They are really enjoying learning outside the classroom and taking their skills and knowledge home.

This is part of the safefood funded Growing Community Roots project which is hosted by Fettercairn Community & Youth Centre. Another of the fabulous Community Food Initiatives that we in Healthy Food for All are proud to support.fettercairn_food
